The Post understands that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will soon to write to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Kumasi Asante Kotoko to demand the documents of head coach, Kjetil Zachariassen.
There have been reports that Zachariassen does not have the required documents to sit at the dugout as Kotoko’s head coach because he does not have the required documents. This news first came out after Kotoko eliminated Kano Pillars from the CAF Champions League. It was reported that the Nigerian club wanted CAF to find out if Zachariassen really had the right documents/qualification to coach in the competition.
According to the information reaching The Post, CAF and GFA will write to Kotoko to demand the documents of Zachariassen and peruse through to know if he indeed has the right qualification.
Zachariassen was signed by Kotoko after he “left Ashanti Gold SC” which he had led to win the Normalization Committee Tier One Special Competition. Although it is believed he coached Ashanti Gold, The Post understands his name was not in their books meaning he was not employed by the club.
It is not clear if Kotoko made sure he had the right documents to live, work in Ghana or even coach in a CAF Competition. If they did and made sure he had the right documents then the club will not face the wrath of CAF.
