Former Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Yaw Frimpong is on the verge of joining Asante Kotoko according to a report by Light FM in Kumasi.
According to the report, the 28-year-old has agreed to join the club and an announcement would be made soon should there be no setback.
Frimpong started his career on a beautiful note, however, he was forced to retire due to injuries.
Before hanging up his boots, Frimpong played for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Fulham, Barnsley, Ufa, Arsenal Tula, AFC Eskilstuna and Ermis Aradippou where he last played professionally.
He played for the English U-16 and U-17 but chose to represent Ghana at the senior level.
“No matter what, I will always play for Ghana because at the end of the day, from what I believe, I am a Ghanaian,” he said in 2009.
Frimpong was compared to Ghana and Chelsea legend, Michael Essien due to his hard work in the defensive midfield role, however, injuries did not allow him to show the world what he can do.
