Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed that the club’s sponsor, Hisense pays the club’s old players ₵4000 whenever the team win a game.
During his interview on Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, Nana Yaw said the club had to terminate a clause in their contract with Hisense in which opposing players were given ₵5000 when they beat them in a league game.
Nana Yaw in the interview said after they announced the deal, he informed Hisense some people do not like the idea of giving money to their opponents for beating them so they had to reach a new agreement.
He expounded that Hisense then increased the money to ₵9000 and they both agreed to give ₵4000 of the money to Kotoko’s old players association whenever the team win a game, ₵4000 will be given to the players and ₵1000 will be given to two lucky fans at the stadium.
This according to him is to enable the old players to encourage the players to give out their best.
