Kwame Arhin, the Asante Kotoko fan who has been paralyzed for 27 years after he took a bag believed to be juju has gotten support from a Kotoko fan group called Kum Apem.
Arhin took the bag from ASEC Mimosa’s goalkeeper’s post as Kotoko was struggling to score in the game against the Ivorian club in the CAF Champions League in 1993.
After his story went viral, members of the Kum Apem Group made a contribution and used some of it to buy foodstuffs, toiletries, brand new wheelchair, mattress, radio and other items worth GH₵ 4,000. A customized Asante Kotoko jersey and GH₵ 2,000 cash was also given to him.
Arhin’s sister has been taking care of him for the past ten years since their mother died.
