Until recently, only a few people knew that Etwe Nnim Nyansa, Shua ye Morbor, Kote Ye Aboa, Kyere Ahantan, Asarekrom, Twenwinso, Tetteh Brofo and Alhajikrom are villages in Ghana.
However, since the day the names of these towns were mentioned in Parliament, Ghanaians cannot stop talking about these villages especially those that are names of the genitals.
These villages, according to their MP, do not have access to electricity and asked the Energy Minister, Agyarko when those villages will be put on the national grid.
Since the day the names of these villages were mentioned in Parliament, it has been revealed as to why these areas in the Eastern Region are among the poorest and less developed communities in Ghana.
The reason is simple.
With the exception of Asarekrom, Kyere Ahantan and Alhajikrom, it has been revealed that it is because of the names of the villages that is why no developmental projects are extended to the areas.
The leaders from the communities, it is believed, are shy of the names of the communities and as a result, they are unable to push for developmental projects to their communities.
While others are asking why elders from these communities do not change the name to a more “appropriate” names, the response that has been given is that since the villages were named by their forefathers, they cannot change it. Because there is a reason why they named the villages that way.
Some Ghanaians, nonetheless, do not buy this idea as elders of the infamous town, Denkyira Obuasi, have been able to change their name to New Obuasi.
Nevertheless, since these villages are now the most popular places in Ghana, people are optimistic that these villages will have a facelift for the new generation.
