When it comes to what women want, it is difficult to identify exactly what really makes them happy.
However, a new scientific research has identified exactly what makes women sleep better.
According to a recent research by Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, women tend to sleep better when they sleep next to dogs and not humans.
The research was led by associate professor Christy L. Hoffman who identifies herself as a dog person. The research surveyed 962 women in the United States of American.
After the research, Hoffman and her team analyzed the data and found out that the dogs did not disturb those they slept with while humans and cats disturbed the women in their sleep.
During the research, 55 per cent of the women slept with a dog, 57 per cent slept with their partner and 31 per cent of the sample shared their bed with at least one cat.
“Some dog owners may take comfort in the thought that their dog will alert them in the case of an intruder or other type of emergency,” Hoffman told HuffPost.
“A cat is less likely to take on this role,” she added.
“I had thought participants would have rated their dogs and human partners similarly in terms of the comfort and security they provide, but surprisingly, the women rated their dog bed partners as better sources of comfort and security than human partners,” she said as participants’ choice of dogs of being protected by dogs than humans surprised her.
Hoffman focused her research on women after a previous research which was conducted by the Mayo Clinic in Arizona found out that people sleep better when they share their bed with a dogs.
