The Police in the Upper West Region have arrested one person in connection with the alleged abduction of a 12-year-old girl in Wa, the regional capital. The police are currently searching for his accomplice.
The father of the victim reported that the abduction occurred on a Saturday, April 22, around 11:00 am. According to reports, the victim was confronted by two unidentified men on a motorbike who threatened to kill her if she made any noise. She had been sent to purchase medicine from a chemical store at the time of the incident.
The victim, who resided with her parents in the Airport Extension residential area of Wa, revealed that she was taken to an uncompleted building where she was tied up with a rope and had a handkerchief placed over her mouth. She managed to escape the next day when her abductors left her behind.
The police have made an arrest in connection with the case and are searching for the other suspect. They continue to investigate the matter to ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice.
