A 13-year old kayaye girl whose name has been withheld has lost her life after being bitten by a 32-year old woman at Central Market in Kumasi.
Reports indicate the incident happened when the 13-year old girl stood in front of where the woman sells her items. The girl stood in front of her items because she was waiting for a woman who was buying items from a shop to finish so that she can carry them for her.
The 32-year old woman, identified as Mamuna Bukari, believed to be a Burkinabe and sells cabbages, carrots and other vegetables got angry when the girl stood in front of her items and started fighting with the girl.
She grabbed the hand of the girl and bit it. They two were separated and the incident was reported to the Manhyia Divisional Police Station. The girl was given forms to take to the hospital.
The girl died the following day at the hospital bemusing the police and those who witnessed the fight.
According to investigations, the 13-year old girl is the fourth girl to have died from being bitten by Mamuna Bukari.
The police after the death of the girl traced Mamuna Bukari who was on the run, heading to Burkina Faso.
She was apprehended and is now at the Manhyia Divisional Police Station waiting for the autopsy report from the doctors to know whether the girl died from the bite or something else caused her death.
