Asante Kotoko has signed eight new players for the upcoming season.
Last season, the club had thirty-eight players but the management has made it clear they would only need thirty players for the 2020/2021 season.
After the club announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder, Fabio Gama on a free transfer, some people are of the view that the club signed him because of a particular management member.

Apart from Gama, some of the fans believe new signings Evans Adomako and Andrews Appau were also signings done by two other management members.
Now the question is who are these management members and where do they know the players?
The first player whose signing raised eyebrows was Evans Adomako. Kotoko signed the player on a free transfer after he left Belarusian club, FC Gomel.
But before he joined Gomel he played for Ghanaian club, Phar Rangers FC which was founded by Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah.
Adomako scored only once for Gomel in 18 games and the fans believe he has been given the opportunity to wear the red jersey because of Nana Yaw.
The second player on the list is Andrews Kwadwo Appau.
The young defender signed for Kotoko from Bofoakwa Tano and some people believe he also got the chance to sign for the club because of the former CEO of Bofoakwa Tano, David Obeng Nyarko, who is currently the special assistant of Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah.
The last player on the list is Fabio Gama whose signing was announced on Friday.
The 28-year old Brazilian has played for 11 clubs in his football career has never been signed by any club. He only joins clubs on a free transfer and only stays there for a year.
Some fans of the club believe Kotoko only signed Gama because of Kotoko’s Head of International Legal team, Nilo Effori who comes from Brazil.
