Three first-year students at the Kwadaso SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Ashanti Region have been handed a one-year suspension by the college management for sharing their intimate video online.
After admitting their wrongdoing during a meeting with the school’s disciplinary committee, the three students were directed to take a one-year leave from the institution as a consequence of their actions.
Speaking on the morning show “Nyansapo” on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM, Williams Adinkra, the Public Relations Officer for the school, clarified that the explicit video was recorded outside the premises of the college, contrary to initial reports suggesting that the incident took place on campus.
“As soon as the video surfaced online, we immediately confronted the three students, who confessed to their involvement. The first two individuals who engaged in the activity and recorded the video claimed that it occurred during their vacation,” explained Adinkra during the interview with host Captain Koda.
He further elaborated, “We were informed that the third person, who is accused of releasing the video, had downloaded it from the girl’s phone and subsequently demanded an amount of Ghc5000 from her.”
“When the girl failed to meet the monetary demand, the video was released on social media platforms, where it quickly gained attention and became viral.”
Adinkra concluded by stating, “While all three students are currently serving a one-year suspension, the individual responsible for sharing the video will face additional disciplinary measures upon their return, including being deboardinized.”
