Two male students of the Nalerigu Senior High School in the North East Region have been killed following an attack on them by some gunmen on Saturday evening.
The students, only identified as Lukman and Gideon as of now, were reportedly at their dormitory when the said gunmen invaded the school and shot them dead on Saturday (July 26, 2025].
An uncle of one the victims who doubles as the assembly member for the Denugu Electoral Area, a community where the victims hail from has confirmed the incident.
It is not clear what triggered the incident, however, sources say it could be linked to the Bawku Conflict.
In a related development, another student was also killed at the Bawku Senior High School on Saturday night by some gunmen.
The attackers reportedly jumped the school’s perimeter wall, entered the dormitory, and forcibly dragged the student outside before shooting him in what appears to be a targeted attack.
