The MP for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George had rejected claims that his party, the NDC has a vigilante group.
George claimed that the alleged vigilante groups, Azorka Boys and The Hawks are in no way associated with the NDC.
The MP made his claim when he appeared before the Emile Short Commission investigating the violence that occurred during the Ayawaso by-election this year.
George appeared before the Commission after he was captured in the video being assaulted by national security officials whom he claims are members of the ruling NPP’s Invincible Forces.
“What I know for a fact, which I can state without equivocation is that the party I belong to, the National Democratic Congress, does not have any vigilante group,” he said.
He added that “the two groups that” he “is familiar with, the Azorka boys and The Hawks are groups that owe allegiance to individuals” within the party.
He went on delineate that he will not refer to them as a vigilante group but rather ‘a Community base Organisation.”
According to him, he has witnessed Azorka boys undertaking developmental projects in a community in the Northern Region.
He insisted that the two groups have not undergone the necessary steps which will enable them to be associated with the party, the NDC.
