A 29-year old man, Richard Boateng has allegedly killed his father, Opanin Appiah Kubi at Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.
According to the report, the 29-year old University of Cape Coast graduate lost his mind when the very day he went home after completing the university.
Boateng was taken to the hospital for medical attention and his family is said to have taken him to different hospitals.
Boateng was taken to the Bekwai Psychiatric Hospital when he got sick again.
However, he left the hospital after some days and his father met him on his way out.
Opanin Kubi attempted to take his son back to the hospital but unfortunately, Boateng took a stick from the ground and used it to hit his father several times.
Opanin Kubi was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
At the moment it is not clear what might have given Boateng the mental problem.
The incident was reported to the police and Boateng was arrested.
