The anticipation for FIFA 20 is growing, with the latest edition of EA Sports’ series less than three weeks away.
The company have already released a trailer containing several teases. This was accompanied by the top 100 players for FIFA 20, whose ratings have now been released.
In total, there are 24 changes from FIFA 19’s Top 100 with some stars being rewarded for their fine seasons for club and country while others are facing up to the consequence of a poor year.
So, who are the 24 new faces in FIFA 20’s Top 100? Read on to find out…
Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 82
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Still just 20, Gianluigi Donnarumma is making his transition from rising star to established goalkeeper and it is beginning to carry through on FIFA. The AC Milan shot-stopper has now cracked into the list of Top 100 players, one of 12 in his position.
Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 86
Another goalkeeper to break into the Top 100 from FIFA 19, Wojciech Szczesny has been rewarded for becoming Juventus’ no.1 shot-stopper – and the “best goalkeeper in the world“. OK, that statement may have been delivered with a tongue firmly in cheek.
Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 85
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 87
Toby Alderweireld was on the periphery of the Top 100 last season, coming in with an initial rating of 85, which saw him just miss out. But a good season with Spurs sees him return as one of FIFA 20’s better defenders, after appearing in the Top 100 of FIFA 18.
Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Dani Carvajal has always been one of the best right-backs on FIFA, regularly coming in with an initial rating of around 84. And now he has been given a boost to 85 ahead of the new release, breaking into the Top 100.
Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus)

Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
One of Ajax’s stars of last season, the now-Juventus centre-back looks set to be give a huge ratings boost from the initial 80 of FIFA 19. A winter upgrade took him to 83, but it appears the Dutch defender has continued to grow in the minds of those at EA Sports.
Jose Maria Gimenez (Atletico Madrid)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Another solid defender who has just been outside the Top 100 is Jose Maria Gimenez. The Atletico Madrid centre-back was 84-rated last season but a good season has seen him jump up to 85, enough to sneak into the Top 100.
Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 83
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 87
Aymeric Laporte continues to grow at Manchester City and his performances for the Premier League champions have been rewarded with a ratings boost of four, moving from 83 to 87 in FIFA 20, comfortably putting him in the Top 100.
Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 86
A partner to the highly-rated Thiago Silva at Paris Saint-Germain, Marquinhos has finally been rewarded for consistently good performances with a spot in FIFA 20’s Top 100, improving from the 84 rating he had last year.
Andrew Robertson (Liverpool)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 81
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
One of Liverpool’s stars, Andrew Robertson had a thundering season last year which saw his rating go as high as 94 on Ultimate Team. It should therefore come as no surprise that the left-back leaves his initial rating of 81 in the dust, taking his place in the Top 100.
Milan Skriniar (Inter Milan)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 85
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 86
Another on the periphery of the Top 100 of FIFA 19, Milan Skriniar had a fine season with Inter Milan, helping them secure their Champions League spot. As a result, the Slovakian has been rewarded in FIFA 20 with a place in the top 100 players.
Niklas Sule (Bayern Munich)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Niklas Sule missed just three games as Bayern Munich fought off Borussia Dortmund to retain the Bundesliga table. The German centre-back was key in steadying a defence which had initially looked weak and, as such, has been rewarded with a ratings boost for FIFA 20.
Allan (Napoli)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 82

Perhaps the understated key member of Napoli’s midfield under Maurizio Sarri ahead of FIFA 19, Allan has finally caught the eye of those at EA Sports with a spot in FIFA 20’s Top 100.
Bruno Fernandes (Sporting CP)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 83
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Bruno Fernandes enjoyed a wonderful season for Sporting CP last year, scoring 20 goals in 33 league games. And this has earned him a ratings boost for FIFA 20 to 85, enough to send him into the Top 100 players – the only Liga NOS representative.
Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 77
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Another member of Ajax’s wonderful side last season, Frenkie de Jong’s performances at the heart of midfield were enough to earn him a move to Barcelona. But not only that, the Dutch midfielder has also seen a huge boost in his FIFA ratings, rising from just 77 to become one of the top 100 players in FIFA 20.
Alejandro Gomez (Atalanta)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Atalanta were a joy to watch in Serie A last season, earning a place in the Champions League group stages for the first time. Key to this was Alejandro Gomez and he has seen his performances rewarded with a spot in FIFA 20’s Top 100.
Rodri (Manchester City)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 82
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Manchester City’s club-record signing, Rodri has flown somewhat under the radar in recent years but a fine season with Atletico Madrid caught the eye of the Premier League champions. He also appears to have caught the eye of EA Sports, who have boosted his rating enough to make the Top 100.
Saul (Atletico Madrid)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 85
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Another midfielder of Atletico Madrid last season, Saul was on the periphery of FIFA 19’s Top 100. But a solid year under Diego Simeone combined with poor performances from rivals was enough for the Spanish midfield to crack into the list for FIFA 20, despite keeping his 85 rating.
Axel Witsel (Borussia Dortmund)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 82
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
Borussia Dortmund went agonisingly close to winning the Bundesliga last season, losing out by just two points. And though it will be no consolation prize, Axel Witsel’s performances in the campaign have been enough to earn him a big ratings boost for FIFA 20.
Hakim Ziyech (Ajax)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 82
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 85
The third of Ajax’s 2018/19 side to make the Top 100 for FIFA 20, and the only one of the trio to still be in Amsterdam, Hakim Ziyech scored 21 goals and recorded 24 assists across all competitions last season.
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 87
A member of FIFA 18’s Top 100 with a rating of 86, Karim Benzema suffered a drop ahead of last season. But his performances as Real Madrid’s central striker without Cristiano Ronaldo were enough to see him return to the Top 100 for FIFA 20.
Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 87
Another member of FIFA 18’s Top 100, Bernardo Silva kept his 84 rating for the following year. But the Portuguese midfielder had an outstanding season for Manchester City last year and will remain on 84 no longer, taking a big enough rating boost to move into the Top 100.
Angel Di Maria (Paris Saint-Germain)

Angel Di Maria has endured a strange few seasons, making the Top 100 in FIFA 18 with a rating of 85 before dropping out the following year with 84. The Argentinian is back, however, with a ratings boost to return to the Top 100 for FIFA 20.
Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal)

Initial FIFA 20 rating: 86
Another player from FIFA 18’s Top 100 to drop out the following year, Alexandre Lacazette’s blossoming partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – plus his own abilities – have seen the Frenchman return for FIFA 20.
Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)
Initial FIFA 19 rating: 84
Initial FIFA 20 rating: 87
Son Heung-min has always been an impressive player, but the South Korean took his game to another level last season, helping Tottenham reach the Champions League final and finish in the Premier League’s top four. As a result, the forward sees his rating go up enough to crack the FIFA 20 Top 100
