Former management member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has urged the management of Kotoko to make Johnson Smith the head coach of the club.
Smith returned to Kotoko again as an assistant coach for the third time this month after Ralph Akakpo Patron’s contract expired.
“I have worked with Johnson Smith at Kotoko. All those times he was the assistant coach,” Peprah said in an interview played on Kessben FM.
“When the going gets tough and for some reasons, the senior coach is not around, Johnson Smith can take over as the coach and in two or three weeks you will see [the players play] a different kind of playing. Free-flowing attacking football and the players will be able to hold the ball.”
Peprah recalled that Smith once came to Kotoko as a caretaker coach and he led them to end their winless run against Real Tamale United in Tamale.
“His man-management is good and we should give him the fullest support to do his work.”
“If we sack the coach [Kjetil Zachariassen] today, Johnson Smith can take up the mantle and take the team to Ivory Coast to win [ against San Pedro in the CAF Confederation Cup].”
“I have a lot of confidence in Johnson Smith and his work shows on the field of play.”
