The CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako was supposed to vote on behalf of his club in the upcoming GFA election but his name has been taken off from the list Kotoko sent to the GFA.
According to the report, while Kotoko gave their support to George Afriyie, the management of the club chanced on conversation in which Amoako was saying he will not vote for Afriyie.
The reason why Amoako made that comment is due to a promise the GFA presidential aspirant made to him.
Afriyie is said to “have promised to make Amoako his Vice President when he wins the elections, however, Amoako also found out Afriyie has made the same promise to Medeama’s Tony Obeng,” Fox FM in Kumasi reports.
Amoako, The Post understands was not informed by his club that his name has been taken off the club’s voting list. According to the report, the club wrote a letter the GFA to inform them of their decision to replace Amoako with Isaac Donkor and Amoako was not asked if he intended to vote against George Afriyie or not.
He was informed of the club’s action later on.
