The new coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has explained why he succeeded at the club during his first stint with the club.
Konadu coached Kotoko during the 2011/2012 season and won the Premier League and the hearts of the fans with his style of play before leaving the club to become the assistant coach of the Ghana national team and later the coach of the local national team.

After his unveiling yesterday at the club’s training ground, Konadu said he ‘did not do the work alone’ during his first stint with the club.
“Back then we had backroom staff and we did the work together,” he told the media after his unveiling.
“I understand that if everything goes well, they will mention my name but I did not do the work alone.”
“Normally its teamwork and back then the players’ desire [to win] was high and they were very passionate about their job.”
“But now their desire [to win] is low and as a player is your desire [to win] is low it will be difficult for you to win any trophy.”
