Kumasi Asante Kotoko, according to reports has punished their defender, Abass Mohammed.
According to initial reports, after the player got injured while playing for his community Tafo in an inter-community match, Kotoko decided to use his salary to take care of him since he sustained the injury while he was not playing for the club.
In an interview on Oyerepa FM, Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Kotoko, Nana Coker said the club is not using his salary to take care of him.

He, however, revealed that Maxwell Konadu rather intervened and saved Abass’ career as the club could have terminated his contract and taken back the signing-on-fee they gave him since he got injured while playing a game which was not organised by GFA, CAF or FIFA.
According to him, Konadu’s pleaded on the player’s behalf and had his punishment reduced.
Although he did not state the exact punishment he was given, he emphasized that the fans would be shocked if they hear the punishment given to him.
