Kumasi Asante Kotoko has beaten Legon Cities 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Legon Cities earlier in the week launched the campaign, Kotoko must fall, however, they rather fell when they faced the Porcupine Warriors.
Cities were in high spirits at the early stages of the game and scored the first goal in the 8th minute through Papadopoulos Panayotis.
In the 28th minute, Kotoko appealed for a penalty as they thought the ball had hit the elbow of a Cities defender.
Sogne Yacouba could have made it one all in the 32nd minute, however, failed to hit the target with his feeble touch.
A minute after missing the chance, Yacouba provided an assist for Augustine Okrah to make it 1-1. Okrah lopped the ball over Cities goalkeeper as he came one-on-one with him.
Gyamfi scored Kotoko’s second goal 9 minutes into the second half after he intercepted Emmanuel Suleiman’s pass.
In the 60th minute, Gyamfi scored his second goal of the day through a header after Yacouba’s cross took a deflection and landed on his head.
Cities had no chance of recovering as Kotoko dominated the game till the final whistle.
