GPL Match Day 12: WAFA hammer Ash Gold, Kotoko bounce back, Aduana return to the top of the league

Before the start of matchday 12, Ashanti Gold was playing good football but they were struggling to score goals.
The team has been struggling to score since their captain and striker, Shafiu Mumuni was dropped from the team. According to reports, the player is set to join a club in Romania and he is working on his documents.
Since then Ash Gold has been scoring one goal in most of their matches and making sure they do not concede until they met WAFA on Sunday.
WAFA humiliated Ash Gold by beating them 6-1 at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.
WAFA moved to the 6th position on the league table while Ash Gold dropped to the 4th position.

On Friday, Kotoko also bounced back after losing to Aduana Stars and Asokwa Deportivo in the league and the FA Cup respectively. It was the Porcupine Warriors’ first game at the Accra Sports Stadium and they started the game on a bad note. Bechem United scored the first goal but unluckily for them, Kotoko was determined to carry the day. With goals from Martin Antwi, Augustine Okrah and Ibrahim Imoro, Kotoko came from behind to beat Bechem 3-1.

Berekum Chelsea welcomed King Faisal to Berekum and made sure they extend Faisal’s losing streak. So far, Faisal is the only team yet to win a game this season. Two goals from Stephen Amankona, Jordan Opoku, and Kissi Boateng gave the home side a comfortable 4-2 win over King Faisal.

Medeama and Olympics will play their game on Monday, 2 March 2020 at 1500 GMT.
