Former President Ghana, John Kufour who was also once the Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has asked the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to appoint people who understand football to the Chairman position.
Reports in the media states that the club is struggling to get people to serve as board members due to the ways people deliberately tarnish the image of people who work for the club.
Speaking on Opemsuo Radio in Kumasi, Kufour pleaded with the Asantehene to appoint people who understands the game and should also be protected.
“The struggle for
leadership at Kotoko is real due to how lucrative the club looks, so I will
plead with Otumfour to appoint people who understand the game and will lead the
club with the truth.
“The leaders should also be protected due to the fact that there are other
people who will attempt to bring them down through gossips” he concluded.
