Albeit English is the official language of Ghana, the founder of the Ghana Freedom Party, Akua Donkor believes Akan should be the official language of the country.
In an interview on Kofi TV after her Facebook live address to the nation which was watched by over 67,000 people, Donkor said not everyone in Ghana understands English so we should use Twi, which is the most used dialect of the Akan language.
According to her, God does not like it when Ghanaians speak English because she knows why he created us blacks, therefore, we should speak our language.

Donkor also said when she becomes the President she will sack teachers who fail students because they cannot write English. She explained that English is not our language so when a student passes Twi or can speak Twi, the student must be allowed to use that to write the exams.
She went on to lash out at Ghanaian parents who speak to their children in English.
“You should be ashamed of yourself if you speak to your child in English,” she said.
“The whites laugh at you when you speak English.”
“When they come to Ghana, they learn Twi,” but you will find someone in Ghana who cannot speak the language.
“It is an insult to God when we speak English instead of our language because we are telling Him He should not have created the language.”
