The saying delegates are f**king seem to be proven right anytime there is a party election.
And former NPP General Secretary, Sir John once said ‘fear delegates, not ghosts’.
A waakye seller at Djomoro district in the Western Region is threatening to curse his party officials after they voted against her in their just ended elections.
According to reports from the area, when NDC lost the 2016 elections, she decided to quit politics.
Before they had their regional and district elections, some party supporters and officials who knew how vibrant she was in politics before the 2016 elections went and asked her to contest for the position of women’s organizer as they need a strong woman who can help them win power in 2020.
Maame Abiba, because of her relationship with the party is very popular in the area.
When she informed her husband about her decision to contest for the position of Women’s Organizer, he told her not to but rather concentrate on her work and make money.
However, her party members were able to lure her to pick up a form and contest for the position.
On the day of elections, she served all the delegates with waakye with the hope that she will be announced the winner by the end of the day.
Meanwhile, her opponent, according to reports met with the delegates and told them to eat the food she [Abiba] will bring and vote against her because politics is not about waakye.
Abiba was shocked when she could not even get half of the 107 votes cast for the Women’s Organizer position.
The following day, some of the party officials went to talk to her so that they can work together and win power in 2020.
Abiba who was still in shock and also in a bad mood told the officials that she spent her own money on the food she gave them and because they voted against her, she is going to curse anyone who ate the waakye.
Abiba said she gave them 107 bowls of waakye so any delegate who ate some does not come forward and see her, the person will die.
