Joseph Esso’s move to Dream FC has come as a surprise to football fans in Ghana.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak attacker was linked with a move to Kotoko after his contract with his former club expired.
Esso reportedly agreed on terms with Kotoko, however, the player signed a two-year contract with Dreams yesterday after news broke two days ago that he and Dreams have reached an agreement.
His agent, Matata Mohammed in an interview with Oyerepa FM said Esso chose Dreams over Kotoko because of “football reason” but not money.
He emphasized that Dreams is not richer than Kotoko so there is no way Dreams can offer him good money than the Kumasi based club.
“It is nothing but footballing reasons,” he said.
“When a player is playing football, he has a dream and direction he wants to take. So when it comes to choosing a new club, he has to consider the pros and cons and select the best club.”
