Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata has ditched the number 9 shirt for the number 29 shirt this season.
The Spaniard had a tough season in his debut season with the London club last season, scoring only 11 goals for the club.
Morata was linked with a move away from the club but he has told the UK’s Mirror in an interview that he is staying and also he has moved into a more ‘bigger’ home near Cobham.
He was linked with a move away from the club due to his bad performance but he told the Mirror that he rejected offers from Spain and a move to Italy to stay in England.
The former Madrid and Juventus also revealed he will be wearing the number 29 shirt.
Players who have worn Chelsea’s number 9 shirt have all failed to live to expectation.
Hernan Crespo and Fernando Torres all wore the number 9 shirt but they could not perform at the club like they did in their previous clubs.
With a new coach and a new jersey number, can Morata finally put his scoring boots on?
