What Ghanaians think about the national cathedral

The President’s dream to build a national cathedral has come with a lot of reactions.

While some people believe it is a step in the right direction, others are of the view that there are more pressing matters that should be tackled as Ghana is a secular country.

Since it was announced that judges bungalow will be demolished to make way for the building, some Ghanaian took to social media to say what is on their mind.

We can have a national cathedral without any government interference. You think God would be impressed with the structure when we are not even truthful to ourselves.? I'm living for Christ. A nation under and for God is not in cathedral

What country are we leaving in, as at 21st century people still lack classroom and learning and teaching materials with an excuse of no money in the country

This same persons who would trip to the Accra sports Stadium for a 31st night service are opposing a requisite auditorium like the National cathedral .

Ghana is not a religious country, building up a national Cathedral won't bring down inflation, it won't defray housing deficit, it won't give employable skills to our teaming youth etc. What we need is vibrant and robust economy.

God doesn't need a huge building while children are studying under trees, poor health system,inadequate ambulances,streetism etc. basically when the citizens are suffering.Misplaced priority building a National cathedral while there are other pressing issues.

Is it not intriguing that Beige Bank, a subsidiary of Consolidated Bank has retrenched over 700 workers only this week? These workers remain redundant for now. But government is seriously focusing on building a national cathedral.
