The FIFA World Cup qualifying game between Ghana and Nigeria will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, according to a report by sports journalist Saddick Adams.
The game was supposed to be played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, however, after Ghana’s 65th Independence Day celebration at the stadium, the pitch has been in bad shape and might not be ready for the game.
CAF officials were at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium recently to check the state of the pitch and per the report the stadium has been chosen as the venue for the crucial game.
The last time Ghana played a World Cup knockout qualifying game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Black Stars beat the Egyptians 5-1 in 2014 to book their place at the World Cup in Brazil.
