Some market women at Kejetia market have said they will go on a demonstration if authorities do not use the right means to share the newly built stores.
According to the women, before they collected data of those who were at the old Kejetia Market before they started the new building but they have heard authorities might not use that data to share the stores.
The angry market women told the media in Kumasi that if the authorities do not use the data they collected they will go on a “naked strike” in the metropolis.
The Kejetia market which is the largest market in West Africa. Contracta Engenharia was contracted to redevelop the market to a modern standard. The new Kejetia market has about 10, 000 stores, a lorry terminal, canteen, etc. to make shopping at the market more easy for the people of Kumasi and its environs.
