Ghanaian international Joseph Alfred Duncan has announced his retirement from international football.
The 29-year-old in his statement said he felt he has not been treated fairly as he has been overlooked even when he was performing well.
Duncan has played 10 games for the national team and his absence from the national team has always been a shock to Ghanaians. This week, Ghanaians were shocked again after he was not called for the AFCON 2023 qualifiers against Central Africa Republic and Madagascar while Mubarak Wakaso who has not played football since late 2021 has been given a call-up.
“The time has come for me to say goodbye to the national team. My hearts is sad because I wanted to write a piece of history with the Ghanaian national team but they never gave me the chance to prove it,” he said.
