Asante Kotoko has announced it has made changes to its jersey for the coming season.
Kotoko’s jersey made headlines after it was unveiled but days after the unveiling reports started circulating that Manhyia Palace isn’t happy with the image of Asantehene on the club’s jerseys. Some news portals reported that the club has been ordered to remove the image of the Asantehene on the jersey and the CEO has been summoned by the Palace.
The image of Asantehene was on both the home and away jerseys and it is not the first time the club has put an image of an Asantehene on its jersey.
Two seasons ago, Kotoko had the image of Otumfuo Osei Tutu Agyemang Prempeh II being presented with the CAF Champions League trophy while sitting in his car on the home jersey. The jersey also had images of some of the club’s legends on its jersey.
