While some people have been complaining and struggling to pay their electricity bill in Ghana, some Ghanaians have not been given an electricity bill for the past six years.
While this may sound surprising, The Post has gathered it is not the fault of the residents but that of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). And it is not also clear how the ECG made such a huge mistake.
Manso Antoakrom, Manso Kobeda, Manso Anwhimanmu and Manso Brofoyeduru are the towns where the residents have not paid electricity since 2012.
Last week, while the residents were going about their normal duties, workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana went to the town to give the residents their light bill for the first time in six years.
The least bill a person will be paying is around ¢2, 000. According to the residents who will be paying the least bill, they are farmers and use the only light bulb and have no television so there is no way they will be able to pay the bill.
The Post has gathered some residents have taken their bills to the Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Kusi to go and pay for them. Also, the rest have asked him to beg the ECG on their behalf as they cannot pay the bill now.
