Ernest Norgbey, a Member of Parliament, has informed GhanaWeb that military personnel in Ashaiman seem to have taken the law into their own hands by going from house to house and violently assaulting residents in the area. This follows the circulation of videos on social media, which captured the disturbing incident.
The footage shows military personnel physically assaulting individuals who were outside of their residences. The incident reportedly occurred on the early hours of Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in Official town, Ashaiman.
According to sources, the personnel were seeking revenge for the death of one of their colleagues who was killed in the same area on the dawn of Saturday, March 4, 2023. Further details about the incident are still emerging.
