Hearts of Oak have emerged victorious in the 2023 President’s Cup, defeating Asante Kotoko and taking home a cash prize of GH₵ 50,000. The game was played at the Accra Sports Stadium in honor of the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and also served as a Week 20 encounter of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
The match was highly contested, with both teams putting up a good fight. However, a lone goal from Konadu Yiadom secured the win for Hearts of Oak, giving them a narrow 1-0 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
As a result of winning the 2023 President’s Cup, Hearts of Oak has been awarded a cash prize of GH₵ 50,000, while the runners-up, Asante Kotoko, will receive a GH₵ 20,000 cash prize.
Hearts of Oak’s win in the President’s Cup also earned the team three points in Week 20 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season, moving them to 4th place on the league standings.
