Osman Bukari, a speedy winger, made an immediate impact in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers between Angola and Ghana. He scored within 30 seconds of coming on in the second half, helping the Black Stars secure a 1-1 draw against their Group E opponents.
The game took place at the 11th November Stadium in Luanda, where Angola started strong and put pressure on Ghana. However, the visitors’ defense held strong and gradually grew into the game, threatening to score themselves.
After a goalless first half, Angola was awarded a penalty kick five minutes into the second half. Attacker Lucas Joao stepped up and converted to give the home side the lead.
Despite Angola looking like they would win, Ghana’s head coach Chris Hughton had different ideas. He brought on Bukari as a substitute, who quickly scored the equalizer, forcing the match to end in a 1-1 draw.
