According to a statement issued by the Chief of Staff of the Mahyia Palace, John Badu, the Asantehene will be accompanied by his wife, Lady Julia, and they will also attend the King’s official reception on May 5, 2023.
The statement noted that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Lady Julia will have a private audience with King Charles at Buckingham Palace on May 4, 2023, prior to the coronation ceremony. They will join other monarchs and global leaders from around the world at Westminster Abbey to witness the historic event, which marks the first coronation in over 70 years.
