Asante Kotoko’s Communications and Brands Manager, David Obeng Nyarko, took to Twitter to challenge Kessben FM’s sports team to host the CEO of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah, and the management team on their show. Nyarko’s tweet appears to be in response to recent criticisms made by Kessben FM’s sports team about the current management of the club. The station had previously been a home for former management members.
When Nana Yaw Amponsah was appointed as CEO, Kessben FM and TV were scheduled to host his first radio and TV interview, but he was unable to make it. Since then, there have been reports that the sports team has been deliberately criticizing the club’s management. In fact, last season, Kessben FM and TV was not included in the club’s media tour.
In his tweet, Nyarko challenged Kessben FM’s sports team to host the CEO and the management team in their studios on May 1, 2023, and present their evidence and facts to prove who is deceiving the public.
In response to Nyarko’s tweet, Kessben Media claimed that they will always remain the best sports program in Ghana and beyond. However, the tweet has since been deleted from their Twitter page.
It remains to be seen whether the challenge will be accepted and whether the two sides can reconcile their differences.
