Man commits suicide at Mim

A man in his thirties, identified as Kwame Peter, has been found dead in a suspected suicide incident in Ahafo Mim, located in the Asunafo North Municipal District of the Ahafo Region. The distressing incident occurred on Wednesday, May 23, 2023, around 9 am.

The circumstances surrounding the incident unfolded when Kwame Peter left his shop but failed to return to close it as nightfall approached. Concerned residents, aware of his absence, decided to investigate and went to his house. To their shock, they discovered that he had hanged himself in his room.

According to a relative of the deceased, on that morning, Kwame Peter went to his shop and later informed some individuals present that he would be returning home to retrieve something. However, as evening arrived and he didn’t come back to close the shop, his companions grew worried. They tried reaching him on his phone but received no response. Consequently, they followed up to his house, where they heard the phone ringing inside his room.

The residents sought the assistance of a carpenter to gain entry into the room. To their dismay, they found that Kwame Peter had placed a chair on the bed and hanged himself from the ceiling fan.

While the motive behind the tragic incident remains unknown, family members suspect that it may be linked to his alleged separation from his wife. Kwame Peter was a skilled shoemaker, and his loved ones are grappling with the shocking loss.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the police have retrieved the deceased’s body. The community is left mourning the untimely passing of Kwame Peter, as they seek answers and support during this difficult time.
