The Ghana Police Service’s Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) in Krachi East is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic incident involving the death of a 55-year-old woman. The woman, identified as Ama Wete, was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in the outskirts of KpareKpare, a farming community located in Dambai of the Oti Region. The unfortunate incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 1.
Sergeant Zakaria Asharift, a spokesperson for the MTTD, informed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that thorough investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. According to Sergeant Asharift, the victim sustained severe head injuries as a result of being hit by an unidentified vehicle.
The deceased was promptly transported to the WoraWora Government Hospital for a postmortem examination. Following the necessary procedures, the body will be released to the family for funeral arrangements.
The police are appealing to the public for any assistance in locating the driver responsible for the hit-and-run incident. Individuals with information that could potentially lead to the identification of the suspect are urged to contact the nearest police station without hesitation.
