Inaki Williams has withdrawn from the Ghanaian national team squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar.
In a social media post on Monday, June 5, 2023, Inaki revealed that he will be unable to participate in the qualifier due to a knee injury. He explained that he had been playing with this condition in recent weeks and now needs to undergo treatment in order to be fully prepared for the upcoming season.
Despite his absence, the Atletico Bilbao star has expressed his unwavering commitment to the national team, assuring fans that he will return to action and proudly represent his country whenever the manager calls upon him.
Inaki Williams was included in Ghana’s 24-man squad on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. As a result of his withdrawal, manager Chris Hughton will need to select a suitable replacement before the team departs for Madagascar.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face the Bareas on June 18. A victory in this crucial match will secure Ghana’s place in the 2023 AFCON, which is set to be hosted by Ivory Coast. The team remains determined to overcome this setback and strive for success in the qualifying campaign.
