The former MCE for Ejisu – Juaben Municipal Assembly, Yamoah Ponko, yesterday described the Nations’ Builders Corp program as a bad initiative.
He indicated on Nhyira FM’s morning show that the erstwhile John Mahama administration had this program in place but because it was not their major policy, people did not get to know about it.
‘Under the NDC we had this thing, we were operating this thing,’ he said.
He described the GHC 700 the NABCO workers will be given as ‘ridiculous and unwarranted’ and their job as ‘conditional employment.’
The former NHIS boss in Ashanti Region also said the policy will not help the unemployed graduates especially nurses.
He stated the government should rather find a way to help the people get a permanent job rather than a temporal one.
‘The government cannot stop the lies it used to come to power’.
According to him, the government is facing lot of challenges but due to their lies they cannot tell Ghanaians the truth.
‘After all the big promises, he is saying he is going to give you a job and pay you GHC700 a month’.
He furthermore indicated that Mahama’s decision not to pay the allowances for training college students was the best thing.
Mr. Ponko also believes those will be selected to participate in the program will suffer as they will not earn enough to cater for themselves as well as their parents.
