After the conclusion of his loan spell with Saudi Arabian club Al-Batin at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, Mudasiru Salifu, the midfielder for Asante Kotoko, has made his return to the team.
Salifu initially joined Al-Batin on loan from Kotoko on January 1, 2023. Prior to this, he had already showcased his skills during the previous season with Moldovan giants Sheriff Tiraspol. His time at Sheriff Tiraspol included appearances in 12 league matches, as well as participation in the Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
During his tenure in the Saudi Pro League, Salifu participated in 15 games, unfortunately failing to score a goal as the team was eventually relegated to Division One at the season’s end.
Having originally signed a two-year contract with Asante Kotoko in 2019, Salifu agreed to an extension in 2022 before being loaned out to Sheriff Tiraspol. Notably, he had previously achieved success with Asante Kotoko, winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2021/22 season and the President’s Cup in 2019.
Due to his notable performances, the former Berekum Chelsea and AS Tanda player has garnered interest from clubs both in Ghana and across Europe.
