Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen has recently made headlines after turning down a staggering offer of €1 million per week from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal. The Nigerian forward’s refusal means he could have potentially earned a jaw-dropping €52 million annually had he agreed to join the Saudi Pro League team.
Reports from the Italian newspaper Il Mattino indicate that Al Hilal’s pursuit of Osimhen has been persistent. They made an initial bid of €130 million, which Napoli rejected, and followed up with a second offer of €140 million, which also met with the same response. The Italian club, seemingly willing to cash in on Osimhen, is now reportedly demanding a significant €150 million for his services.
The interest in Osimhen comes on the heels of Al Hilal’s failed attempt to secure the services of Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, adding to the intensity of their pursuit for top-notch talent.
Last season in Serie A, Victor Osimhen delivered an exceptional performance, showcasing his prowess on the field. He finished as the league’s top scorer with an impressive tally of 26 goals in just 32 games. Unsurprisingly, his remarkable display has caught the attention of several European football giants, with Bayern Munich among those keeping a keen eye on him.
As the transfer saga unfolds, football enthusiasts around the world eagerly await to see where Victor Osimhen’s future will lead him, and whether Al Hilal will be successful in their pursuit of this coveted striker.
