Asante Kotoko is considering the termination of the contract of their newly signed striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu, Oyerepa Radio reports.
According to the report, Safiu complained of pains in his leg when the club resumed training and after an MRI scan, the club’s doctors have advised the management and technical team to let him go due to the seriousness of the injury as he will not be able to play in the second round of this season. However, per the report, the player has told the club he can still play.

According to reports, Asante Kotoko Technical Director, Kwasi Appiah who is currently working as the Sudenese national team coach was involved in Safiu’s return to Kotoko, therefore, they are waiting to for him to come to Ghana to a decision to be made.
The 29-year-old signed for Swedish second tier side Trelleborgs FF when he left Kotoko in 2019. He later moved to Swedish third tier side Trollhättan in 2021.
