Kumasi Asante Kotoko, according to reports gathered indicate the club paid about ¢95, 000 as Value Added Tax (VAT) on the money they got from their game against Cotton Sport on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Before that game, The Post also understands the club also paid ¢50, 000 as VAT after their game against Kariobangi Sharks. In total, the government made ¢150, 000 as VAT from Kotoko’s two games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kotoko also set a record at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after making ¢639, 100 from the sale of tickets for their game on Sunday, however, after deductions were made to the government of Ghana, National Sports Authority and CAF, the club got ¢385, 974.
This money is set to increase when the group stages matches begin in Kumasi on 3 February when Kotoko welcome Al Hilal of Sudan.
