NPP behind CID’s interest in Ofosu Ampofo’s case – Asiedu Nketiah

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said that the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party is behind the Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) interest in the leaked Samuel Ofosu Ampofo tape.

According to Asiedu Nketiah, the government ‘just wants to show off its power’ and it has made it difficult for the police to do their work diligently.

He accused the government of directing the police, calling the government the ‘political bosses’ giving directions to the police.

He believes the ‘whole’ thing is ‘politically motivated’ because the government has failed to ‘detain’ government officials whose tapes have also leaked.

“The method they are using is not the right method,” he said.

He asked why they have failed to detain any of those who have been caught on Anas’ latest expose concerning illegal mining in Ghana but rather have are interested in detaining the Chairman of the NDC.
