Power Distribution Services [PDS] has assured of uninterrupted power supply in the country on days Ghana’s Black Stars will be playing a game in the African Cup of Nations currently ongoing in Egypt.
The company, in a statement, said this is to enable Ghanaians fully support the Black Stars who are seeking to end their over three-decade-long AFCON trophy drought.
PDS said it will “reschedule all planned maintenance works on days when the Black Stars will play.”
The company further indicated that, in cases where a power cut is critical, it will do its best to ensure that power is restored within the shortest possible time.
“Critical emergency maintenance works on such days will be completed within the shortest possible time,” it said, adding that “management and staff of PDS wish the Black Stars victory.”
Ghana’s Black Stars will play their opening game in the tournament today, Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
They face Benin at the Ismailia Sports Stadium at 8:00 pm.
The game will be televised live on Citi TV.
Akufo-Addo in Egypt to support Black Stars
In a related development, President Nana Akufo-Addo is in Egypt to watch the Black Stars opening game against Benin.
The President met the players and officials of the team on Monday night after he arrived in the country to motivate them ahead of the match later on Tuesday.
