The General Secretary of the opposition NDC, Johnson ‘General Mosquito’ Asiedu-Nketiah has explained why he said that NDC members should marry NDC members.
Speaking to Omanhene Adu Boakye on Kessben FM, General Mosquito first stated that the president, Nana Addo was a socialist during his days as a student of the University of Ghana, Legon.
He explained that Nana Addo gave up his socialist idea due to his family’s political affiliation.
Former President Edward Akufo-Addo, Nana Addo’s father, he explained, married his uncle, J.B Danquah’s daughter because they have the same political affiliation.
In this case, he expounded, made it difficult for Nana Addo to leave the party. ‘If it was not that, it could have been that Nana Akufo-Addo would not be an NPP member because he was a Socialist.’
‘That is why he also thank Captain Tsikata in his speeches because he studied socialism under him.’
‘Samira Bawumia, Dr Bawumia’s wife’, he said ‘was the TEIN’s Women’s Organizer when she was at the university.’
According to Asiedu Nketiah, if two NDC members are to marry, although their children may not support the party, there is a high possibility that they will all grow in the party.
