AS Roma’s Alisson Becker is set to join Liverpool for a world record fee of £66.9 million when he puts pen on paper.
Liverpool has been chasing the Brazilian stopper since January and today it was reported that the player and Liverpool have agreed on terms.
Becker will break the record currently being held by his fellow countryman Ederson Moreas of Manchester City who broke Gianluigi Buffon’s record when he left Benfica last year.
Alisson, 25, left Roma Airport yesterday and he is expected to undergo medicals when he gets to England.
Alisson joined Roma from Internacional for €7 million two years ago and made no errors when he became the club’s first choice keeper last season.
Alisson who has been described as the Lionel Messi of goalkeepers will replace Lloris Karius as Liverpool’s number one.
