An angry customer of uniCredit Ghana limited today blocked the entrance of the firm’s Ridge Head Office in Accra with his car.
The savings and loans arm of the now-defunct uniBank, according to the customer, has failed to let him withdraw money from his account.
Kofi Agyei, told Class FM that “I’ve been saving with uniCredit for some time now, but since September, I’ve been trying to get money for my contract but when I come, they say: ‘Come tomorrow, we’ll organise it for you, come today we’ll organise it for you’. I was here last week and they assured me they will pay my money but they didn’t.
So, I’m still here and I even blocked the entrance with my car, I’ll not allow any car to enter”.
Agyei also said that he has over ¢30, 000 in his account but the managers of the bank have told him they can only pay him ¢5, 000.
Agyei then said he has decided not to take the money until the bank sign an agreement with him to pay the rest of his money at an agreed date.
