African legends, Asamoah Gyan and Roger Miller’s records at the World Cup are under threat.
Not by any player but by Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa.
Asamoah Gyan has scored 6 goals at the World Cup. He scored his first goal in 2006 in his first World Cup against the Czech Republic.
In 2010 in South Africa, he scored 3 goals and 2 goals in Brazil 2014 against Portugal and Germany.
He broke Roger Miller’s 5 World Cup goals at the World Cup in the game against Portugal.
Ahmed Musa, after scoring 2 goals against Iceland has come in 3 places on the list of Africans with most goals at the World Cup with 4 goals.
Musa scored his first goal against Argentina and his second in the same match when Nigeria lost to Argentina by 3 goals to 2.
Since Cameroon’s Roger Miller retired over a decade ago and Ghana could also not qualify to the World Cup, Musa now has the chance to break and set a new record.
A qualification for Nigeria to the next stage will give him more chance to equal, break or set a new record.
Nigeria plays Argentina tomorrow but until then Asamoah Gyan and Roger Miller can still keep their titles.
